Sex on the Beach is a lively and fruity cocktail celebrated for its tropical taste. It takes you right to the beach, even in February where is full-blown winter in Lake Tahoe. This recipe is a riff on the classic which mixes vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry juice, or orange juice, creating a delicious blend of sweetness and tartness. Our version of sex on the beach uses a Florida-based aperitif, called Munyon’s Paw-Paw, instead of peach schnapps. Peach schnapps just doesn’t do it for us. We also omit cranberry juice and use creme de cassis instead for a creamy rich flavor. The mixture is then shaken or stirred and poured over ice in a tall glass. For an extra touch of allure, it’s often garnished with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry. The result is a visually appealing and revitalizing drink that captures the carefree essence of a beach holiday, making it a popular choice at bars and social gatherings. The cheeky name adds a playful element, contributing to the overall fun and laid-back atmosphere associated with this timeless cocktail.

Creme de cassis is a blackcurrant liqueur that is rich, velvety, and absolutely delicious. We love it but it’s not always easy to find. To replace you can use a jam to replace it. Just make sure to shake it up really well. You can also get a blackcurrant syrup on Amazon that would do the trick as well!
