Pears are so underrated in our opinion! Especially in the fall! That is why we always like to highlight this lovely ingredient in a few of our bites and sips recipes. A ripe pear is hard to beat! This is a cocktail that combines the best of both worlds … the rich sweetness of ripe pears and the comforting warmth of spices, all elegantly blended into a spiced honey pear martini. Should this be called a “spiced honey pear sour”? Probably, but throw it in a chilled martini glass and nothing else matters. Feeling the extra love for seasonal goodies? Make sure to check out our suggested pairing below!
INGREDIENTS :
To make the honey pear simple syrup, combine 1/2 cup of water and ½ chopped pear. Bring to a boil, and boil for 2 – 5 minutes. Take off the heat and add 1/2 cup of honey. Stir to combine. The set aside and let cool. Strain out solids with a tea strainer.
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 – 3 pear slices, a pinch of cinnamon and simple syrup. Muddle until pears are completely smashed. Add the remaining ingredients with ice. Shake vigorously until chilled and double strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a pear slice and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

While doing some research for pear recipes we came across these interesting facts about pears. Thanks, Google!
Pears with their juicy and succulent flesh, hold a fascinating place in culinary history and horticulture:
Pears are pretty neat and that is why its great to include them in cocktails like the spiced honey pear martini!
Making a honey-based simple syrup takes a lot of honey. We get it, if that’s not the route you want to take then you can always just substitute with sugar. But it does make this spiced honey pear martini pretty solid! Just be sure to combine equal parts sugar and water to have a well balanced syrup. If you want to get down with even more spice (which we love to do quite often) then you can try making your honey simple syrup with Mikes Hot Honey. It is so wildly good in syrups, bread, pancakes, and even pizza! Yes, we said pizza.
Butternut squash and pears? Yes, please! These are two essential fall ingredients that pair extremely well together. Butternut squash brings a more hearty fall feel while the pear brings a more light and elegant fall touch making them a great duo. That is why we recommend pairing the spiced honey pear martini with our butternut squash risotto! It’s perfect for gatherings and will highlight the coziness of fall!
