Pears are highly underrated in our opinion! When you get a perfectly ripe pear in the fall it’s pretty hard to beat! That’s why we always like to include a good spiced honey pear martini in our fall menu. The aromatic blend of warm spices complements the sweet essence of pear, creating a truly enticing cocktail. Be sure to check out the suggested pairing at the bottom!

how to make a spiced honey pear martini

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz honey pear simple syrup
  • fresh pear, sliced
  • cinnamon, for garnish

To make the honey pear simple syrup, combine 1/2 cup of water and ½ a chopped pear. Bring to a boil. Boil for 3 – 5 minutes. Take off the heat and add 1/2 cup of honey. Stir to combine. Set aside and let cool. Strain out solids with a tea strainer.

In a cocktail shaker add 2 – 3 pear slices and simple syrup, and muddle. Add the remaining ingredients with ice. Shake until chilled and double strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a pear slice and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Making a honey based simple syrup takes a lot of honey. We get it, if that’s not the route you want to take then you can always just substitute with sugar. Just be sure to combine equal parts sugar and water to have a well balanced syrup. If you want to get down with even more spice (which we love to do quite often) then you can try making your honey simple syrup with Mikes Hot Honey. It is so wildly good in syrups, bread, pancakes, and even pizza! Yes, we said pizza.
