To make the honey pear simple syrup, combine 1/2 cup of water and ½ a chopped pear. Bring to a boil. Boil for 3 – 5 minutes. Take off the heat and add 1/2 cup of honey. Stir to combine. Set aside and let cool. Strain out solids with a tea strainer.

Making a honey based simple syrup takes a lot of honey. We get it, if that’s not the route you want to take then you can always just substitute with sugar. Just be sure to combine equal parts sugar and water to have a well balanced syrup. If you want to get down with even more spice (which we love to do quite often) then you can try making your honey simple syrup with Mikes Hot Honey. It is so wildly good in syrups, bread, pancakes, and even pizza! Yes, we said pizza.
