Many say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. With this chai chia oatmeal, it is! We grew up on cream of wheat, so this is an upgraded version of that cereal. Chai chia oatmeal does not lack in flavor, nor texture. We remember this type of breakfast being bland and mushy. Not this one! how to make chai chia oatmeal

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 C chai (black tea concentrate)
  • 1 C rolled or old fashioned oats
  • 2 C oat milk
  • 1 T honey
  • 1 T chia seeds, plus more for topping
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 1 grapefruit, supreme

Heat a medium size pot on medium to high heat. Add the oat milk, chai, and honey. Stir to combine and cook for two to three minutes. Next add the oat and chia seeds, and lower heat to a simmer. Cook for five minutes, then remove the pot from heat, and stir in the vanilla extract.

While the oats are cooking, supreme the grapefruit by trimming the ends, slicing off the peel and pith in sections, then cutting along the membrane of the grapefruit to release segments. Set aside until oatmeal is ready.

Pour the cooked oatmeal into a preferred bowl. Garnish with grapefruit slices and additional chia seeds. Buon Appetito!
