method

Heat a medium size pot on medium to high heat. Add the oat milk, chai, and honey. Stir to combine and cook for two to three minutes. Next add the oat and chia seeds, and lower heat to a simmer. Cook for five minutes, then remove the pot from heat, and stir in the vanilla extract.

While the oats are cooking, supreme the grapefruit by trimming the ends, slicing off the peel and pith in sections, then cutting along the membrane of the grapefruit to release segments. Set aside until oatmeal is ready.

Pour the cooked oatmeal into a preferred bowl. Garnish with grapefruit slices and additional chia seeds. Buon Appetito!

This recipe calls to supreme a grapefruit.

What does that mean? In the culinary wold, citrus segments are called supremes. This process gets rid of the membranes between the wedges and the bitter white pith.

We recommend using a 5-inch utility knife when cutting citrus supremes. This allows for cleaner cuts and more control.
