We are taking a classic Italian dessert and adding a little western twist. This caramel whiskey tiramisu takes it to a whole new level by soaking the ladyfingers in Ballotin Whiskeys Caramel Turtle flavor. Don’t worry, we still have some of the classic ingredients such as mascarpone and espresso. But doesn’t caramel whiskey tiramisu just sound more adventurous? If you are looking for even more of a buzz, pair our espresso martini with this dessert!
In a medium bowl add the egg yolks and half of the sugar. Whip together with an electric mixer until it becomes a pale yellow.
In a second large bowl add the heavy whipping cream and remaining sugar. Whip together with an electric mixture until it creates soft peaks. Then add in the mascarpone and whip until it becomes a spreadable mixture with medium peaks. With a spatula gently fold the mascarpone mixture into the sweetened egg mixture, combining the bowls.
In a shallow bowl or baking dish add the espresso and Ballotin Whiskey. Stir until the ingredients are combined. Break the ladyfingers in half and dunk in the coffee whiskey mixture for three to five seconds on each side. Immediately place in the serving glass or cup. Be careful to not let them soak for too long; they will fall apart.
Pipe or spread a portion of the mascarpone mixture onto the lady fingers in one even layer. Sprinkle with sifted cocoa powder. Then repeat these layers again, starting with the lady fingers. Dust the top layer with additional cocoa powder. Cover each glass with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for several hours. The longer the tiramisu is in the fridge, the better.
Prior to serving the tiramisu garnish with three coffee beans and additional cocoa powder if desired. Buon Appetito!
