Hot tips!

  1. Use sturdy tortilla chips that can hold plenty of toppings without getting soggy.
  2. Layer toppings evenly to ensure every chip gets a delicious coating.
  3. Avoid burning the cheese by evenly spreading it throughout the dish.
  4. Customize with your favorite ingredients like jalapeños, onions, and cilantro.
  5. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly, then finish with fresh garnishes. Enjoy the perfect balance of flavors and textures!
  6. Make sure to clean the cast iron appropriately. Here are some tips on how to do that!

To appropriately clean a cast iron pan, follow these steps :

  1. Let it cool: Allow the cast iron pan to cool down completely before cleaning to avoid warping or cracking.
  2. Hand wash: Use hot water and a stiff brush or sponge to gently scrub off any food particles. Avoid using soap, as it can strip the pan’s seasoning.
  3. Use salt or oil: For stubborn stuck-on food, sprinkle some coarse salt on the pan and scrub with a paper towel. Alternatively, you can add a little cooking oil and use it to loosen the residue.
  4. Rinse and dry: Rinse the pan thoroughly to remove any remaining debris. Dry the pan immediately with a clean towel to prevent rusting.
  5. Seasoning: After cleaning, lightly coat the cast iron pan with a thin layer of oil to maintain its seasoning and prevent rust.
  6. Store properly: Store the cast iron pan in a dry place with a paper towel or cloth between pans to prevent scratches.

Remember … Avoid soaking, using harsh abrasives, or using the dishwasher, as these can damage the seasoning and reduce the effectiveness of your cast iron pan. Proper care of a cast iron pan can last for generations, and become even more non-stick over time!
