To create a tahin rim, take a lime wedge and run the juicy part along the rim of the glass. Fill a small plate with tahin and dip the rim of the glass into the spices until it is covered with your desired amount. Set aside.
In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, blood orange juice, cream of coconut, lime juice, and ice. Shake until chilled. Strain into final glass filled with ice and garnish with blood orange wheel and an extra dash of tahin.

If you can, make sure to use Coco Lopez for your cream of coconut. Alternatively, you can use Coco Real. For this coconut blood orange margarita, we recommend a good organic low calorie tequila blanco like Dulce Vida!
For a coconut blood orange margarita (in our mind is one of the best margarita recipes ever, and yes, we are biased) we recommend you bake our pineapple margarita cupcakes for a sweet pairing! You can’t go wrong either way, especially in the summer time. If you are firing up the grill why not pair it with a lighter dish like our grilled veggie skewers!
